Re: Summer meet 2016?
Pick a butterfly, pick a site, see how the season is going (is it running late or early?) and pick some potential dates. It is probably worth arranging something later on in the spring as too early and you risk missing everything. Work out transport links and/or possible lifts for people travelling ...

Re: April 2016
My first orange tip of the year was seen today as I was driving into my village near Horsham, West Sussex at lunchtime. Later in the afternoon I was at Cissbury Ring and there were half a dozen or so of peacock and small tortoiseshell around, many brimstones, some small whites. It was lovely to see ...

Re: Susie
Spring has almost sprung! The first frogspawn of the year arrived in my pond last night, a week earlier than last year. I've only had one butterfly sighting so far this year. An unidentifiable butterfly flew high over Cranleigh High Street back in January (possibly a painted lady), twice it was atta...

Re: Winter Get-together 2015
Yes thanks Susie, as a newbie it was good to put some more faces to names. It was also good to feel relatively normal sat amongst a group of grown people talking about butterflies! :) I'm glad you could make it, it's nice to encourage the younger generation  Thanks again to everyone who has sa...

Re: Winter Get-together 2015
This is a great venue for me because it is only just up the road from home, I hope it remains here. I am curious as to how we arrived at choosing this venue especially as Susie is from Sussex, could somebody enlighten me please :?: One year at the Aes exhibition I was chatting to a few ukbutts memb...

Re: Winter Get-together 2015
Thanks everyone. :D Despite talking about a possible different venue I think the consensus was that this locations suits us generally. So, I guess it's same place on the last Saturday next November all being well. I may put some thought into other get togethers at other venues at different times if ...

Re: Winter Get-together 2015
Thank you everyone who came along, it was a pleasure to meet you all. You make these events great! It was lovely to meet old friends and put some new faces to names too. I think there were 16 of us in total which is probably one of the best turn outs we've had. Mike, the photo you took of me is defi...

I've been a bit off colour lately so am now unsure whether I can make it but will try (nothing serious, just a fluey cold).
Have a great time!

Re: Susie
Hello, yes it's me. Still here!
I've been very envious of the long tailed blues people have been seeing and so have had a couple of (unfortunately unsuccessful) trips to look for them.
However my back garden is still pulling in red admirals so there is something to be grateful for![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)
