SIGMA 150mm f2.8 Macro or SIGMA 180mm f3.5 Macro?
I am going to ditch my zoom and tubes and buy a proper macro lense this spring... does anyone know which of these lenses will be best suited to butterfly photography and why? I'd be particularly interested in how sharp the images are with both lenses.

I notice that a lot of people post photos of butterflies bred in captivity. This would never occur to me as it seems potentially illegal? What are the laws surrounding this and does it vary by species?

I found these two in Glasdrum Wood on a rainy day in June. This is one of my favourite photos because of all the effort it took to take it. I also like that the first butterfly is tack sharp, the second butterfly is showing the underwings and that they're both feeding. What do you think? All feedbac...

I agree that using a tripod in the field is difficult and sometimes impossible, especially in the heat of the day. However, on the few occasions I have managed to successfully use the tripod, I am much happier with the results, they're just indescribably sharper for two reasons; no camera shake, and...
