I left the finger in it, for now at least, to show that I was holding it up in the air. The butterflies definitely seem to be less bothered, or more likely, less able to do anything when I got there so early. It was a good tip someone mention in one of the previous post that I read. RE a previous post about getting out early. I got to one of may fav locations at 6.20am I soon started spotting common blues in the grass. female Common blue?

On my patch I see hundreds of common blues, but hardly ever see the females. Is this common in other areas too? Could this be a female Common blue? I took the shot yesterday and have only just looked at it. My guess is that it could be one of the females that have brown wing tips going into blue as ...

OK thanks.

When I looked at the photo I did see the wing markings showing through.

But also saw the black antenna tips and the underside of the wing seemed to be light in colour.

Anyway better luck next time.
