Same old question

Same old question. Is it Southern Small White, Small White or Green-veined White. Alas no underside photo. I suspect the latter. Photographed 21st July 2023 Forest of Dean.

Southern Small White??

I took this photo on Hayling Island a couple of days ago. Google lens tells me it’s a Southern Small White. That can’t be right can it?? Maybe the damaged wing makes google think they are wing markings?

Re: File too large

I tried a different method and successfully managed it by using my phone instead of my PC. My question/photos are on identification topic. Thanks again.

I took these photos 22/6/23 at Arnside Knott. The 3rd spot is missing altogether. Is it an Ab.?

File too large

I'm trying to ask a question about a photo I took of a butterfly yesterday, but when I attempt to attach it an error flags up with a message. File too large. This has never happened before. What do i need to do? TIA

Female Orange Tip ab?

I photographed this female Orange Tip in The Forest of Dean yesterday (May 1st). She looks a bit creamy. Is this normal or is she an ab? Thanks.

Re: Annual 2022 Competition

This is my 3rd entry. The rather plain looking butterfly is actually a White-letter Hairstreak! It's just been nabbed by a spider who must have stunned it somehow. They seem to be easy pray for the spiders hiding in the Hemp Agrimony. I've seen this before in previous years, but never seen the upers...

2023 BC calendar

Is the 2023 BC calendar available for sale? If so where can I order one? There's no sign of it on their website. Thanks.

Indeed David. Whereabouts are you? I live close to the Welsh border. Monmouth is only about 7 miles away from my home.

Clouded Yellow Year

IMG_0505.JPG Back in May I wished for a Clouded Yellow year. They seem to be everywhere. I've seen them in several different locations this year for the first time although I only managed to photograph a couple of them. They don't hang about for long! I saw my first ever Pale/Helice yesterday at Sa...

Nabbed!

I went to my local hotspot (emphasis on the hot!) for White-letter Hairstreak. One obliged nicely then later I spotted anther individual being nabbed by a spider. What happened next is something I've never seen before. The butterfly opened it's wings fully flat. Maybe the spider's venom was paralysi...
