Nice photos Dave and what good meadow's to find butterflies, still just a few butterflies around here even though its really quite warm. To-day I saw a few Speckled Wood's, a Small Copper, a Large White and a Large Skipper. Yesterday I saw a female Orange tip, photo a bit poor. Picture 012 (Small).j...

Do you know Denise that is actally what I went out to find to-day instead I did find the others which around here is not too bad, I had to race home for the big lens and got a lovely photo of a Whitethroat, how is anyone to manage carrying all these lenes :lol: Yours Small Tort' is a fine specimen. ...

How did you know Denise, did you just know or do you have a moth book, I searched through that big book of mine and couldn't see then I thought it may have been a Painted Lady but I looked at Pete's photos but no luck there. Good for you Denise.

The butterflies are back but you have to search for them because of the Northerly wind, nearly stood on this caterpillar but I don't know the species is, Large Skipper and Small Copper

The butterflies have again disappeared, in the mean time just saw this House Sparrow on the lawn and it have two little patches of white on its head.

If Sarah you six eggs and two hatchlings you might have eight names to find, Snow White and the eight :lol: dwarfs, whatever theirs names were. Or, the names of the folks on this website, there's plenty to chose from :wink: All butterflies in this area have gone in hideing waiting for the sun. Shirley

I thought that this lens was just for Af but not so as Eccles told me and whilst looking for butterflies to-day just managed to change the macro lens and got this flying bird. For the price its fantastic. I mean the lens.

I spy a little egg! Ouch! those nettles don't half sting especially when you have shorts on but it was worth it. :D

Perhaps Guy if you could catch a stong Painted Lady and put a little camera on it and then you can record all the places it goes to and its destination :D Then we'd all know, 'The secret journey of the Painted Lady'

Butterflies do not like Iris's, they fly pass them have a look and carry on, very pretty in a garden the Iris but that's all.

Hundreds in a Sycamore tree this morning, they were after the flowers on the tree, the branches were hanging with them and this afternoon they were flying across the sands from off the grassy cliffs at Porth Dinllaen.

Actually spotted one by Caernarfon Castle and quite a few Small White, I had the 500mm lens and it wouldn't have any of it me trying to focus in on one little b'fly.

Nice photos, its not easy telling the White's apart but the GVW seems to come into the garden more than the others.

Welcome Gaina, another WAB member here, but on uk butterflies they accept your photos and explain the good and bad points, in WAB they just throw them out. :) also its easier on the forum for a chat. All kinds of everything here.
