Re: Buddleia
Hi, I have bought an Amateur Gardening magazine to-day and inside there is a four page feature on Buddleja, a gentleman Andrew Bullock grows loads of them and there's picture's of different varieties, a beautiful yellow called Golden Glow, a lilac coloured one called B.lindleyana and a few others. H...

Re: just a couple from today
The Holly Blue looks really nice, clear, bright and fresh. Well done. The Peacock looks a bit battered. Like us ![Smile :)](./images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)

Re: A UK Butterfly Calendar 2009
The software I use is Seriff. If we were to use 52 photos it take the look of mosaic, we might end up cross eyed. Happy Birthday Roger, are you 52 :? to-day. Does anyone know where we go from here? Perhaps Mr.Eeles could say what he would like to do with His calendar on His web site, what he says go...

Re: A UK Butterfly Calendar 2009
The paper I use is A4 but always for butterflies or birds portrait because otherwise the subject would look rather flat, the subject has too fit more or less. I use the landscape mode for example a panoramic sea view and then these use loads more ink. The price of this type of calendar would certain...

Re: Lantana
Hi Rosy, I have discovered Lantana seeds in the seed merchants Thomson and Morgan, I think they are sold 20 seeds for about £3. According to the garden centre they are a bedding plant but its a thought for next summer, I will buy some later on and see if I can grow any, the photos of the flowers are...

Re: A UK Butterfly Calendar 2009
I glad there's lots of idea's, Gary's idea of the details on the photo's, could that be a little too much information on the picture, perhaps on the first page each photo shown with all the details for the species of the butterfly plus the photographer and the camera details and on the back page the...

Re: A UK Butterfly Calendar 2009
Thanks for the birthday greetings. Opps, I meant that I had missed the 31st in January in 2006. I like your idea's Denise on the photos. I'll go through the competitions from sep 07 till now and see what there is and a nice selection of butterflies and I think that that Pete's Purple Emperor on the ...

Grayling and possible female Commom Blue?
Yesterday I took this photo of I think a female Common Blue and to-day the second photo I think is a Grayling but I'm not sure. I am still trying to get used to this close up lens. Am I right with these two species?
Re: Net Rage
Talking of compact camera's, I have a Kodak Easyshare P712 and recently a Panasonic DMC-FZ18, the Kodak has been so wonderful I have been able to set up a cottage industry of calendars, I have taken the most beautiful photos of the sea, ok it doesn't take close up very well it is a bit of a struggle...

Re: 2008 First
Hi Dave,
I think that if you go to your garden center and buy a white buddlia in flower you may find that may entice the Painted Lady butterfly to your garden, I have a small white buddlia and a lilac one, every sunny day there is a Painted Lady on the white buddlia. Worth a try. From Shirley.

Re: 2008 First
Rain all week in North Wales, my poor hay was due to be cut in June and its still standing. When it is dry here its truns humid and the butterflies do come out then at least in the garden. Quite a few Red Admiral's all on my buddlia, Speckled Woods are down and I've never seen a Brimstone ever, but ...

Re: Painted Lady anyone!?
Here is the second one, the first one I posted on sightings was a terrible 'sight' it was. Things have improved, to-day I found this beauty resting on my bark path, I've never seen two in one year ever. May be a third sometime.
