Re: April 2009 Lepidoptera Sightings

Nice photo Iac, I wonder if the male Orange Tip comes out first like the Gate Keeper, no one has put up a photo of a female yet. I found at least 6 Small Tort's along the field and managed a photo with the lens 55-200mm, I found that lens far easier than the Pansonic close up lens. tort'sh 12.4.jpg ...

Re: Has anyone got a Sony DSLR A200?

Re: Hazards of Butterflying

The hazards of Butterflying comes in a package like this: Along the sides of the fields there's a good chance of seeing Peacocks and Small Tortoishells, to-day even though its very windy I thought I'd go around the field and suddenly I thought I could hear something growling, I walked into the middl...

Re: Not Lepidoptera (Birds) - 3

Lovely photos of the Kites and Buzzards and your Blackcap Eccles, another first to-day for me never ever came near to getting a photo, heard them many times before. I've never enjoyed a camera and lens as much as this combination the Sony A100 with 500mm reflex lens.

Re: Not Lepidoptera (Birds) - 3

Not exactly a bird but this is why I needed a long lens, I knew he or she would follow the same route every morning about 7.30 and I moved fast this morning and even though I only got three photos this is the first time I've ever taken a photo of a fox with any camera. Sony A100 with Sony 500mm AF r...

Re: Not Lepidoptera (Birds) - 3

Thanks for your compliments, the lens, bulky little thing and sometimes difficult to pick out a certain branch or twig your trying to zoom on. I got it last week and the weather has been awful low cloud no blue sky at all it was so misty on Saturday you couldn't see the garden gate. As for butterfli...

Re: Not Lepidoptera (Birds) - 3

We have some very pale brown Rabbits here I suppose they must be crossed at point with a domestic rabbit. There's a cold Northerly wind here for the last couple days so therefor still only the Peacock butterfly I saw last Wednesday. I had four pairs Goldfinches here to-day, I understand that the Gol...

Re: Questions from a first time DSLR purchaser

I have recently bought a Sony A100 off Ebay, it was a second chance thing, the actually price which was very high was a scam so I seemed to be the only genuine bidder and got it for £170 and its in really good condition, there was no compact flash card and instruction book but every thing else was i...

One Peacock in Morfa Nefyn at last, all the photos I took came out blurred, I took the zoom lens off and forgot to switch the conversion off. :(
