Sharpenhoe looks wonderful at present. I was surprised to see a few fresh male coridon and delighted to see some wonderful female aglaja ..... She wasn't in the best of focus, but boy, were they active!!

I thought it strange, and agree it ought to be alfacariensis presumably the oddity is due to it's worn out-ness.

Purple-edged Copper remains a spectacular butterfly when fresh, and especially when it sports purple edges, like this one I bumped into at Les Gets... oh, and here is his heart's desire, both were fresh as a daisy....
