Pearl Bordered Fritillaries at North Yorkshire today. They took some getting as i was an hour before they started to settle down.

Interestingly enough, last year it was two females I noticed with a net at Bishop Middleham Quarry where there is a colony of Northern Brown Arguses. They kept well away from me and kept appearing now and again to see if the coast was clear. I was quite disappointed at the idea of it all. God idea t...

Coppers are doing well in the north east, 11 on one small site at Gateshead, lots of blue spot forms and two albinos. Four each seen flitting about at two other sites. More than ever seen before but there were none of the first brood seen.

An id of these pale green eggs, on clover at Totternhoe Quarry on 28th of May would be appreciated. I cannot find anything relevant in the books. I am wondering therefore whether they are from a moth.

I spotted these three yesterday at Teesside. Are they Essex Skippers? It was very windy and they were hiding deep down in the grass so these were the best photographs I could get at the time but I could not see any orange on the antennae.
