A Brown Argus or a Female Common Blue Butterfly Please?
I apologise for intruding but we spotted the Butterfly in the attached picture in Petts Wood (LB of Bromley in SE London) on Sunday. It was fairly close to a male Common Blue Butterfly and although Brown Argus Butterfly crossed my mind I assumed on reflection that I was looking at a female Common Bl...

Re: April 2015
A Sunny but Windy day; and my mind was as much on Birds as Butterflies. But I was lucky enough to spot my first Green Hairstreak Butterfly this year; locally on the Erith Marshes, part of the Crossness Nature Reserve: greenhairstreaktwoerithmarshes28april2015.jpg And a couple of white Butterflies sh...

Earlier today I took a picture of some Horse Chestnut Flowers up above me.
Imagine my surprise when checking through the Pictures at home I came across a Butterfly paying a visit:

Re: Mike Robinson
millerd: thanks for noticing this. I was really lucky since the Butterfly was moving from Bluebell to Bluebell giving me plenty of chances to take pictures. The only other Brimstones I have seen this year have whooshed past me! Goldie M.: thanks for noticing this. The Wild Daffodils in the local Woo...

Re: April 2015
On my rounds today I came across these two in close quarters. From a distance I assumed they were in the process of mating, preparing to mate or finishing mating. Then on looking at the picture at home I noticed that the upper Butterfly is a Small White Butterfly and the lower one, a Green-Veined Wh...

Re: Mike Robinson
A trip down to Lesnes Abbey Park and the nearby Woods to hopefully find some Cowslips, a Blackcap and a few Butterflies was fairly successful insofar as I managed to find some Cowslips and Butterflies. However; no Blackcap. But of course, there's always tomorrow. And anyway; the flowers in the Park ...

Re: Mike Robinson
I hadn't intended to add anything more for a few days (not wanting to outstay my welcome) but I photographed this Comma Butterfly today. I got a surprise when I looked at the picture on the Computer. Until now, I have thought as Commas being just an Orange colour. But the colour of this Butterfly is...

I'm still waiting to see a Comma this year. Some nice pictures.
I'm also keeping an eye on Ladybirds this year; despite being rather small they do tend to keep still which I find very helpful!
Kind regards ~ Mike ….

Another day and some more Butterflies. A visit to a local Open Space provided some tip-top views of lots more Peacocks (at least fifteeen) and a handful of Small Tortoiseshells; plus I managed some pictures too: peacockseastwickhamopenspace8april2015.jpg smalltortoneeastwickhamopenspace8april2015.jp...

A nice haul yesterday and some lovely pictures.
I'm envious of your Comma. I think I might have seen one today whooshing past but couldn't be sure. Still; there's always tomorrow.

Re: Mike Robinson
Wow; it all kicked off today for me down on the Erith Marshes. After being fortunate enough to see a couple of newly arrived Little Ringed Plovers I was kept busy by the Butterflies. Lots of Peacocks, forty plus and my first Brimstone, Orange-Tip and Small White Butterflies of the year. I was partic...

Well done with the Small Tortoiseshell. A nice couple of pictures.
I had to smile when you mentioned kneeling down; with my knees my days of doing that are long gone.
