Re: Katrina

Thank you for the positive feedback. I liked it a lot but wondered how I didn't manage to get the very top of the plant in the photo.

Windy Weather

This afternoon I went to Kithurst Hill. I saw 3 Dukes, 2 Dingy Skippers and a dragonfly. I was going to leave when I met Mark and Susie so decided to stay for a while. Another man kindly pointed out a roosting Brown Argus to us. I stopped at Mill Hill on the way back and found 2 Adonis Blues (I thin...

Slow-worm and Twists and Turns

At midday today I visited Mill Hill. The weather was cloudy and windy with occasional glimpses of sun. I was looking for the Walls, Small Heaths and Blues. I quickly spotted a Wall flying past which landed. When I tried to take a photo it flew off again and then started chasing a Small Heath! Sadly ...

Lovely photos - I particularly like the Brimstone in flight. Can I ask which settings you used to get the shot? I have the same camera as you.

Roosting at Mill Hill

This evening I went to Mill Hill to try and get some roosting Dingy Skipper photos, having admired others on this website. I had tried to look for roosting butterflies on Friday afternoon at Kithurst Meadow but found only a Pretty Chalk Carpet Moth and 3 spiders. This evening was much more successfu...

Re: Katrina

Thank you Pauline - the Small Copper was thanks to Mud-puddling.
Thanks Neil, I didn't notice it was a Duchess at the time but thought the abdomen looked a bit fatter when looking at the photos. Duchess was at Heyshott yesterday.
