Anonymoths ID parade

Good morning UK B'ers, I fired up my moth trap over the weekend and sited it at the entrance of an open garage which produced the best results so far. I have named the ones I managed to identify in my moth book and as I know you are a finely tuned collection of Lepidopterists I hoped you might be up...

Re: Minor Updates

Dear Pete, As ever, the site goes from strength to strength and the latest addition of 'the sites' is very useful. The only observation I have is that when you click on a specific zone, it doesn't show the sites on the periphery. i.e. If I look at area 'SU' particularly at Swindon/Cirencester it wil...

Re: Moth ID please

HI UK B'ers, Having given my moth trap its first outing in early April, I have failed to upload the images of the first 5 visitors. IMG_3084.jpg IMG_3079.JPG Given the depth of your collective knowledge, please can anyone confirm the species of the unknowns? IMG_3073.jpg IMG_3076.JPG IMG_3081.jpg Th...

Re: May 2015

Hi UK B'ers,

At last I have a picture to upload!

Weirdly cold and windy yesterday in Gloucs, but it did enable me to get this male OT:

Lovely report from Philzoid and great results; particularly jealous of the cuckoos.

On another note, I trialled my moth trap and lured in 6 species which I will post at some point, as everyone likes...

Re: Unidentified moth

Hi Tony,

I have no idea what a Paul Batty trap is (!), but sadly Stafford is rather a lot of petrol which would wipe out any savings!!

I will have a look for the book you recommend and once again thank you for your response.

Dear Buggy,

I wondered if you could assist me with my own unidentified moth? I found it next to a petrol pump residing on the fire sand sack!

Thank you Jack, but as I suspected you trumped me!! Great shot of the clouded yellow.
It is warm again today and I have already seen what I suspect was a Red Admiral flying over the field.
