i could`nt decide wish was my favourite picture that i had taken this year, because i have quite a few that i really like. so i just chose this adonis blue, which was taken at denbie hill. one of my favourite places.

I love your two photo`s of speckled wood`s on the ground. I think the background really compliments the butterflies and vice versa. Two truly wonderful pictures, my opinion, much better than a green background.

thanks Neil, you`re a mind of information. i had heard of this behaviour before but in much hotter climates around the world, and never expected to see it on our shores with our much milder weather.

hi nickc
i also use a sigma 150mm macro lens. it allows you to shoot at distance or close-up, and gives you a very sharp image. would recommend it to anyone.

i visited denbies last weekend, and saw a couple of fresh female adonis blues along with a handful of males. these were found on the main hill, when you pass through the carpark gate head straight down the hill until you reach another gate, pass through and turn right and explore. hopefully a lot mo...
