Re: May 2013
The Duke of Burgundy emergence at Noar Hill continued to gather pace today as i managed to see 2 lovely specimens sunning themselves in the windless hollows of the reserve.I got there fairly early at 1000 but didnt have to wait too long before the first one showed itself. The far pit revealed the sec...

Re: March 2013
A brief spell of sunshine in Wokingham at around lunchtime, encouraged a rather faded Red Admiral to explore the garden for about 20 mins.Spoilt or what??

I was very lucky with my first female BH.She was a pristine beauty.David M wrote:That's a remarkably orange 'tail' area.RobS wrote:he was watching a female BH who was low down, with her wings open...and in no hurry to return to her hiding place.

Decided to drive to Shipton Bellinger in Hants yesterday to have a look for the elusive Brown Hairstreak.Last year, despite two visits,Noar Hill hadnt delivered the goods and i was still BH-less. On arrival at the site, and having a fairly good idea as to where to look from Alan Thornburys excellent ...
