Re: April 2011

At last some decent weather over the past few days here in Lincolnshire means I don't have to be too envious of you southerners :D Lots of Peacocks and Brimstone. Good numbers of Orange Tip though only saw my first males today. Fair numbers of Speckled Wood and a few Commas. Report of Green Hairstre...

Re: Canon lens advice please

Thanks all. This is developing into a very interesting and informative thread. It is good to hear what others are using and a debate about the pros and cons of various lenses.

I for one am learning much from the various contributers - so thanks again.

Bit like comparing a Morris Minor with a Porshe :D Am going for the 70-300 as a walkabout lens so was interested in the pics taken with it. I appreciate 300 is the minimum for ...

Canon lens advice please

Hi all, As a long time lurker and enjoyer of this site I am posting for the first time - so please be gentle with this self confessed Luddite. I have a canon 400D with an old and heavy 400 mm lens. I am looking for something lighter (due to arthritis) and better quality. It will mainly be for bird s...

Re: Butterflies - A Very British Obsession

Could I just say how interesting and informative this thread is. Please keep the discussion going. Perhaps there will be no concensus but it is illuminating. I watch the Marsh Fritillaries in Lincs and the other year the Scotch Argus which 'turned up' there. The ethical and scientific questions rais...
