Re: Wall – Favourite Photo of 2017
A very good year for Wall Brown around these parts in 2017 with a record one day count of 115 in July on my 4 mile circuit. On 22nd July I came across a posing female that allowed several shots. In fact she posed for so long I ended up walking away from her and leaving her be. BOB_6161 (2) (1280x755...

Re: December 2017
Despite a heavy overnight frost that was still showing late morning where the sun had not reached, there was definite warmth around High and Over today and I was half expecting a sighting of a Red Admiral or even a Peacock. This didn't happen of course, but I was pleased to find very easily 2 Wall B...

Re: October 2017
Before Storm Brian turns up tomorrow I thought I would have one more quick look in the High and Over area to see if I could find just one more Wall Brown. As it was one female was seen and will probably be my last of the year after the battering expected tomorrow!! Also seen were 2 Speckled Wood, 1 ...

I know several birding photographers that use this lens and the general quality is excellent.

Re: BBC website Wedding Release of Butterflies
I've just put into google 'Butterflies at Weddings' and this company openly advertises a potentially illegal activity!! http://www.butterflywedding.co.uk/ There seems to be several American companies doing it too so another pathetic trend that has come over 'the pond'!! All the photos show Painted L...

Good to see you too Paul. That underside Wall is a right cracker. Too think you were down this way exactly one year ago today when a certain Shrike showed up!!

Good to meet you yesterday Dave. Looks as though it was worth the longish drive for you with several really fresh Wall Brown. Looking forward to seeing the results.

Re: Trevor
The fresh Wall Brown I'm pretty sure is 3rd brood looking at the image Trevor. A couple of tiny nicks out of it so it probably emerged on Monday or Tuesday. I can't imagine one entering the World on Wednesday in all the rain!! It is the first fresh one I've seen for around 2 weeks. With the 2nd broo...
Re: July 2017
I have been keen to get out to do my regular Wall Brown count on a 4 mile circuit at the back of Seaford as I have been seeing good numbers on my shorter visits to the area. Today, despite the windy conditions I decided to go ahead as the peak emergence is probably just over. I was more than pleased...
Re: July 2017
A surprise of a Dingy Skipper yesterday at Seaford. Not often one of these can be seen on summer plants, this time a Viper's Bugloss.
