Numerous Walls battling in the sunshine on top of the long barrow 30/31 July 1st August. Been in several nearby downland areas and only seen 4 or 5 blues in the last 6 weeks or so.

Pale frittilary
This went by fast but delicate colouration attracted my attention. This was Morgans Hill in Devizes where we see Marsh frittilaries earlier in the year. I assume it is old and faded or an abberation but Im not sure what it is.

This morning.
Do small coppers emerge and age together or are emegences staggered over the adult flight period? Nice specimens 10 days ago are now rather tired at the same site. Ringlets get very worn as well.
