ID needed please

Took the following photos in Mallorca. Appreciate the photos aren't that good but if anyone can assist with identification that would be good.

Thanks,

Re: Moths for ID please

Hi teejay,

I think they may all be the same moth, namely the Large Yellow Underwing which can vary significantly in colouring:

Re: Nash Point - South Wales

Thanks for that Michael. I do visit Ogmore and Ewenny during the summer so I will mark the diary for next July, especially as I've never seen a HBF. On a non-butterfly note, whilst walking the cliffs at Llantwit Major I noticed a Buzzard being mobbed by a smaller bird of prey which, in turn, was bei...

Pleanty of butterflies to be seen along the 8.5km stretch covered: 100+ small whites, 40+ common blues, 12 speckled wood, 12 small tortoiseshell, 2 painted lady, 2 re...

Re: July 2010 competition

I must own up to being one of those who entered the monthly competition but didn't vote. The reason being I didn't realise I was supposed to vote and for this I apologise. Although I'm not too sure about the premise of 'compulsory' voting. Anyhow, I now know what's expected for the future 8)

Re: DSLR or compact - how do you get good pictures?

Hi Nick, DSLRs will give you the best results but you will have to buy additional lenses to cover all options and this can be expensive. I use what was termed as a 'bridge camera'; a sort of mid point between a compact and a DSLR. They are now referred to as a 'micro four thirds' camera and can give...

A Good Summer for Butterflies?

Hi, As someone who has only recently started to seriously photograph and record butterfly sightings I'd be interested to know, from the observations of others, if this summer has been a particularly good one for Butterflies. I live in South Wales and so far this summer I've recorded the following bu...
